Cool Arts, in partnership with the Ponderosa Fibre Arts Guild, Alternator Gallery, and Kelowna Art Gallery will be running a community weaving project this July and August.

Cool Arts is embarking on a second fibre focused art project to bring to the forefront sustainable practices in the arts. Engaging the community to demonstrate accountability to the environment, show a coming-together through a variety of activities: online chats, essays, videos, in person workshops, and hands on community weaving opportunities.

The project’s loom will be set up for 4 weeks at the Kelowna Art Gallery July 11-Aug. 4. Sign up through our online link on the Kelowna Art Galleries website to try your hand at Weaving. Our loom is wheelchair accessible and all ages are welcome to sign up. We supply the materials and volunteers will help you get started. The Saori loom is designed to make weaving easy and fun.
